So I got a new computer desk a few months ago. It’s all painted metal and the little mouse shelf has been somewhat troublesome. I’m not sure if it’s the reflective shine on the paint, or the fact that the paint has been wearing off, but it wreaks havoc with my mouse from time to time. I’ve been meaning to get a mouse-pad for some time now but just never got around to it.
I’d looked at several of the gaming pads out there, but have been hesitant becuase the fact of actually buying a mousepad seems dumb these days. After some particularly frustrated erroneous movements in Photoshop today I decided it was time to take action. While searching for the “best mouse pad” I came across a blog entry detailing how to make a great mouse pad out of wax paper. Since it was basically free and I had a tube of wax-paper within 6 feet of my desk I decided to give it a shot. I’ve only been using it for a couple hours now but it’s actually really darn good. The great part about it is that it’s custom fitting which is nice for me. It also doesn’t look that bad because it kinda matches the subdued silver color of my desk.
Here’s to computing with baking supplies…Cheers!!
